Described as a landmark social media event, the Queensland Instameet initiative aims to boost tourism to the Sunshine State.
Anyone with an interest in photography and a love of the Sunshine State is invited to attend one of several Instameets occurring around Queensland on Saturday 4 October.
An ‘instameet’ is a meeting of people at a predetermined place and time to take photos and socialise. All that you need to participate is to be in Queensland and possess a smartphone with an Instagram account. Then register for the location that suits you and remember to use the hastag #thisisqueensland when uploading your photographs.
The aim of the Queesland Instameets are to show the rest of the world how beautiful the Sunshine State is. The Queensland government and tourism industry hopes that the Instameets will encourage tourists to visit and discover the beauty for themselves.
The Queensland Instameets will be held in 47 locations on Saturday 4 October. Scroll down for a list of Instameets occurring in and around Brisbane.
