The program for Brisbane Open House 2014 will be released in the next few months, listing the most architecturally impressive buildings in Brisbane.
Brisbane Open House will return again this year with a new program of architecturally diverse, well-designed and historic buildings open for public viewing.
Held in conjunction with World Architecture Day, selected buildings are opened for the public with guided and self-guided tours, providing guests with the opportunity to discover the most impressive buildings and places around Brisbane city.
This free event will run from October 11-12, the program will be made available in September and will be your ultimate guide to plan your Open House weekend.
The program will include everything you need to plan your day with descriptions and images for every building as well as maps and suggested itineraries.
Across the weekend, Brisbane Open House will run an architecture photography competition. You can see the photographs of previous winners here.
The winner will be judged by Queensland Government Architect and representatives from the Brisbane Development Association and McCullough Robertson, as well as a professional architectural photographer, and will win a $1000 cash prize.
The Open House program will also include a special program for children, and a range of free activities and things for children to see and do will be available at various buildings throughout the weekend.
The Brisbane Development Association is presenting a Speaker Series at various locations in the lead up to the Brisbane Open House weekend where influential Brisbane architects, landscape architects, designers and engineers will share stories from their successful careers.
