While this event may be a little out of the way for Brisbane locals, the 17th annual Opera at The Channon in Lismore is not to be missed!

Run by the Combined Rotary Clubs of Lismore, Opera at Channon has been running for 16 years and has raised over $150,000 for charity.

This year the concert will be held on Sunday 27 July 2014 in Coronation Park, The Channon. The Channon is a small village located in the picturesque scenery of the NSW hinterland- a view worth the road trip!

The open air festival will feature Martin Buckingham (lyric tenor) and Thomas Johnson (pianist) who performed at last year’s event, along with numerous other opera artists.

Guests have the option of attending a ticketed silver service luncheon catered by chef David Forster, bringing their own picnic lunch or purchasing a BBQ lunch.

All money raised on the day will go to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Our House, Early Intervention and Life Education NSW.

There will be return buses available from the Gold Coast, Casino, Kyogle and Byron Bay at an additional cost.
