A Tribute of Sorts and Magic Hour are set to rock the famed Bille Brown studio this May.
Following the success of Macbeth at the Playhouse, Queensland Theatre Company will present two plays at the Bille Brown Studio, A Tribute of Sorts and Magic Hour.
Winner of four Matilda Awards in 2012, including Best New Australia Work, Best Independent Production, Best Male Actor (Dash Kruck) and Best Female Actor (Emily Burton), A Tribute of Sorts by Benjamin Schostakowski is a winner in the theatre.
A Tribute of Sorts follows the series of events leading to the demise of 26 infants, each event becoming more weird and unfortunate than the last. Critics claim the show is ‘unexpectedly endearing, wickedly funny, and pithily punchy.’
The play is set to run from May 7 – 17, and directly following Bille Brown Studio will host The Magic Hour, commencing May 20 – 31.
The Magic Hour is an enchanted children play based on a collection of Grimm’s fairy tales set in Australia’s 21st century.
Award winning singer and actress Ursula Yovich takes on the leading roles of multiple female characters, dispersing her talents into the reworked tales from the Grimm Brothers.
Recently finishing her role in Mother Courage, Ursula Yovich is set to deliver a phenomenal one-woman comedy of dark humour and soulful songs.
