Save the date! VCC business lunch
Put it in your diaries! Friday 13 June is the Valley Chamber of Commerce’s first business lunch for the year and it promises to be a big one!
The theme of the lunch is Live, Work, Play and we will be celebrating the arts right here on our doorstep with supporting acts from the Judith Wright Centre for Contemporary Arts and Brisbane Powerhouse.
There will be an ‘experience’ package auctioned on the day with all proceeds being donated to ChaplainWatch.
Keep an eye on our website for more information closer to the date.
Be swept away by Lake
Showing at the Judith Wright Centre in Fortitude Valley is Lisa Wilson’s bold and evocative dance production, Lake, which completes its first national tour back where it all began at the Judith Wright Centre.
Performed entirely on a stage flooded with water, Lake reflects on the journey of a relationship, from sparkling reflection to murky depths.
The team at the Judith Wright Centre has worked closely with Lisa and designer Bruce McKinven to deliver the challenging set for touring opportunities, as part of the venue’s commitment to support independent artists through its Fresh Ground program.
From Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 May, 7.30pm nightly or 2pm Saturday, duration 60 minutes, no interval.
420 Brunswick Street (corner of Berwick Street), Fortitude Valley, tickets $20 to $39.

Brunswick St. Mall revitalisation
We are pleased to announce that the Brunswick St. Mall revitalisation is well on track.
The announcement of the council-approved development – a new boutique hotel between Chinatown Mall and the Brunswick St. Mall – just adds to the excitement.
This new hotel will add 112 rooms to cater to Fortitude Valley’s ever-growing number of visitors and residents and is another boost to the Valley’s continued economic development.
It will deliver a much-needed facility. The new hotel will occupy the middle section of the TC Beirne building and is expected to cost about $20million and create 100 jobs.
