British dance kings Hot Chip are gracing Brisbane with there presence in June.

Since their first album in 2004, Hot Chip has become a leading avant-garde dance band in the industry.

For the first time, the band is joining up with American electronic music producer Mathew Dear to perform at Oh Hello! in Fortitude Valley. All the way from London, Hot Chip has released five studio albums and has deejayed worldwide.

Coming to Australia the group will perform for Melbourne and Sydney at the Vivid Music Festival and Brisbane’s club show.Band member Joe Goddard described the group’s unique flare for pop and the reasons behind their choice of name.

“You know the feeling when you put a chip or French fry into your mouth and it’s much too hot and it burns your tongue? It’s a really immediate, undeniable, exploding feeling. We wanted to make music like that,” Goddard told Dusted magazine.

Holeandcorner, Sydney/Melbourne’s new music event, have chosen Hot Chip to kick-start their international lineup.
