Queenslanders are diagnosed with cancer every year. Get involved with Relay For Life this year to help raise awareness and honour those affected.

More than 21,000 Queenslanders are diagnosed with cancer each year with promotional fundraising events crucial in raising awareness of those affected by cancer.

Out of the staggering 21,855 Queenslanders diagnosed with cancer each year, approximately 7,532 deaths occur.

Relay For Life are crucial to raising awareness and honouring the lives of people affected by cancer.

Relay For Life is an exciting fundraising event for the whole family and is the heart and soul of Cancer Council Queensland.

The overnight event is an opportunity for family, friends and colleagues to get together with the community to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fight back against a disease that takes too much.

At dusk the events are lined with candles, where family and friends can celebrate the lives of their loved ones touched by the disease.

First introduced to Queensland in 2001, the event raised $3.5 million in 2010, a figure that continues to grow every year.

All funds raised during the events go towards the Cancer Council Queensland’s education and prevention programs, as well as cancer research to find better treatments, and continued advocacy towards making issues a governmental priority.

There are 10 Relay For Life events scheduled so far for this year, see below for details on how to get involved.
