Judi Farr brings murder and mystery to Brisbane, writes Laura Brodnik.
Agatha Christie’s sensibly heeled super sleuth will make her Brisbane debut this month, when the stage show A Murder Is Announced comes to the Queensland Performing Arts Centre.
The beloved detective, who features in 12 of Christie’s best-selling books, will be brought to life by star of stage and screen Judi Farr.Farr has already stepped into Miss Marple’s shoes for the Melbourne and Sydney seasons of the show and said she is looking forward to bringing the production to Brisbane. “It’s such a fun show; we’ve had a lot of audience reactions during the production. People gasping when the story takes a turn they didn’t expect, it’s been wonderful,” she says.
“So many actresses have played Miss Marple, she’s such an iconic character but I tried not to look at any past performances. She’s a lot of fun to play . We all love to play detective without having to leave our seats, that’s why these stories are so enduring.”

Unable to resist the mysterious invitation,a crowd begins to gather at Little Paddocks when, at the appointed time, the lights go out, a gun is fired and a body falls …
