Dave Hughes is a natural, and unmistakably Australian, comic.

Dave Hughes, who spent twelve years in the Nova 100 Melbourne breakfast shift with Kate Langbroek (finishing at the end of this year), is co-host of Network Ten’s The Project and the fan’s favourite footy show, Before the Game, which just celebrated its eleventh season. With the AFL season behind us for 2013 he’s sneaking a Saturday night in Brisbane in for one show only at the Eatons Hill Hotel, doing what he loves best – performing live.

After dreaming about being a comedian since he was a youngster, his first comedy gig came at age 22 when he was living in Perth doing labouring jobs and he decided, “I’m going to have a crack”. Appearing onstage he acknowledges that he was “just horrible” but after three attempts over six months he gained his confidence and went on to become a headline act.

He is a regular performer at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Some of his shows have been released on CD (Dave Hughes: Whatever), and on DVD (Dave Hughes Live, as well asDave Hughes – Handy)  (source: Wikipedia)

Dave Hughes is perhaps one of the most important and significant talents to have emerged from the Australian comedy scene in the last ten years. A natural and unmistakably Australian comic, Dave’s laconic style thinly disguises one of the fastest comic minds this country has ever seen.

David William “Hughesy” Hughes was born on the 26 November 1970 in Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia. He is renowned as an Australian stand-up comedian, a radio and a television presenter.  . He is known for his larrikin personality, drawling Australian accent, and deadpan comedic delivery.
