12 years strong and growing, The Gluten Free Food Expo, which is Brisbane’s fastest growing food and lifestyle show, is set to be better than ever before at its new location, the Royal International Convention Centre.

The two-day event is an annual celebration of Australia’s best gluten free food producers, MasterChef cooking demonstrations, and keynote presentations from medical professionals who specialise in the management of coeliac disease.

18% of the population now purchase gluten free products representing a 28% increase from 2008-2012 with Australia being one of the fastest growing gluten free markets in Asia, second only to South Korea.

One in 70 of the population has coeliac disease but 80 per cent of affected Australians – about 270,000 people – are unaware they have the autoimmune illness.

A key highlight for the Expo will be the live cooking demonstrations by MasterChef contestants Courtney Roulston and Michael Weldon appearing on the Coles stage.

Presentations will also take place on the Coeliac Queensland information stage from leading specialists including Dr Jason Tye-Din.
