Right around the corner you’ll find a larger than life Salvos Store, with wall-to-wall racks of metaphorical gold. This store stocks plenty of vintage garments and the price point will take you back in time too; more often than not you’ll get change from a $10 note as most pieces go for around the $7 mark. If you’re in the market for furnishings and household items too, put this store at the top of your thrifting list.

Pandora’s Thrift Shop Wynnum

Unlike Pandora’s box, this thrift shop is only full of good things! The two-room store is chockers with vintage and labels, and most garments and shoes go for $5 or under. The best part about Pandora’s is the staff though; Jenny and Liz have been volunteering for over a decade and are still bringing their A-game in customer service. You may want to adopt them!

Pandora’s also hosts an annual Jumble Sale, where clothing goes for $1 a piece, so keep the first Friday of November free.

Vinnies Wynnum

If you need to update your winter wardrobe with some summery pieces, make a beeline for Vinnies in Wynnum, where you’ll find racks and racks of dresses perfect for the season ahead.

This boutique-style op shop stocks all the high end labels from Cooper St, Country Road, Calvin Klein and Witchery, to Guess, Banana Republic, ASOS and Finders Keepers, without the high end price tag. Silky Oaks Opp Shop Manly

Try to be strategic with your thrifting adventure and pop in on the fourth Saturday of each month for their car boot sale as well…you won’t regret it!

Lifeline Cleveland

You’ll literally bag a bargain at Lifeline Cleveland, pun intended! This cosy store has an amazing selection of handbags, from cowhide cross-body bags for $4, to $6.50 DKNY vintage backpacks that circa the 90s! They have so many bags they actually have a half price tub you can rummage through. Run, don’t walk!

This Lifeline also stocks a great selection of labels including H&M, Forever New, Zalora, Wish, Barkins, Miss Shop and ASOS, which range from $7.50 – $12.50, so if you need a party dress or a summer style overhaul make sure you pop in.

This op shop makes it easy to save a lot of children! Clothing and shoes start at just $5, and they also offer 50 percent off on garments with yellow tags that have been in the store for awhile. You’ll find plenty of amazing vintage clothing as well as pieces that are brand new with tags, and with fresh stock coming in daily, you’ll want to visit this store on the regular.

Be sure to sign up for their loyalty program too; just for being on their books you’ll get a $5 store credit, and each time you shop a percentage of the sale will be added to your op shop tab!

Red Cross Cleveland

You’d be forgiven for thinking you’d stepped into an exclusive boutique at Red Cross Cleveland, thanks to the high ceilings, fresh interior and designer labels on offer. Sass & bide, Country Road and Levis donate brand new garments with tiny defects to the charity across the year, so plenty of pieces in store have never been worn! Not bad for a secondhand shop! They also stock plenty of Mika & Gala, Saba, Urban Originals, Glassons, Oroton and Tommy Hilfiger.

Prices start from $3 for basics, up to $100 for high end evening wear, and they occasionally have 50 percent off sales on black attire, so if you’re dressing up for Halloween this October get yourself to their store now!

Tucked away off a major road, this store is a little goldmine of garments ranging in price from $5-$10. Think labels like Mink Pink, Witchery and Wish, and if that’s not enough to get you excited, the half price rack out the front sure will!

You’ll also want to pop in for some good old fashioned customer service; the lovely volunteers will bend over backwards to help you get your retail therapy!

Footprints Thrift Shop Capalaba
