Brisbane Airport (BNE) has been named ‘Australasia’s Leading Airport’ at the 23rd World Travel Awards in Vietnam.

The highly coveted World Travel Awards, established in 1993, celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel tourism and hospitality industry.

“Australasia has many outstanding airports within the region, so we are humbled to again be recognised as one of the best in a very competitive field,” says Brisbane Airport Corporation CEO and managing director Julieanne Alroe.

“The honour is even sweeter in that it’s an award that has been bestowed on us through votes from global travellers.

“To know that travellers enjoy the facilities and services provided at Brisbane Airport is a credit to the front line staff at our terminals and to every person working on site, be they employed by airlines, contracted, government agencies or volunteers.”

It’s been a big year for BNE — the airport was also named Best Airport (Australia/Pacific) in the 2016 Skytrax World Airport Awards, and was the top rated Australian airport for quality of service for the 12th year in a row by the Australian Competition and Consumer Association (ACCC).
