Just in time for the school holidays, Ryan McNaught’s Brickman Experience will open on the Gold Coast this weekend.

The largest touring exhibition of its kind in the southern hemisphere, Ryan McNaught’s Brickman Experience is made from over five million LEGO bricks, including Australia’s tallest LEGO brick model.

The exhibition, which will be on display at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre for 15 days, features over 60 individual works by Ryan McNaught, the only LEGO Certified Professional in the southern hemisphere and one of only 14 in the world.

The works on display include Ryan’s biggest ever Star Wars LEGO build, a model Airbus A380, a quarter scale LEGO Ferrari and the world’s largest LEGO flower.

Budding builders inspired by Ryan’s work will be able to work on their own LEGO creations in the exhibition’s specially designed interactive master builder zones.

“This exhibition is very special to me because it’s the original collection of my individual works, brought together in one space, for everyone to enjoy,” McNaught says.

“We’ve had huge success with the exhibition across Australia and New Zealand so it was only a matter of time before we brought the exhibition to the Gold Coast!”

McNaught quit his corporate job to focus on building LEGO brick models full-time in 2010, and he’s never looked back.

“LEGO brings people together, everyone loves it,” he says.

“Kids, parents, grandparents — everyone has a memory of playing with LEGO and I’m looking forward to sharing my creations with LEGO fans on the Gold Coast and meeting all the budding brickies out there!”

Ryan McNaught’s Brickman Experience is on at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre from Saturday 24 June to Sunday 9 July. Register for tickets at bit.ly/BrickmanExp.
