Elmo and his Sesame Street friends are on a mission in Brisbane.

Brisbane toddlers and pre-schoolers will be tickled pink when they see their favourite Sesame Street friends appear live on stage at QUT Gardens Theatre.

In Sesame Street Presents Elmo’s Super Fun Hero Show, a cheerful caped visitor to Sesame Street, Super Sparkleheart, will take the gang on a joyful musical journey to discover the mysterious inner super power that will make every one of them an everyday superhero.

Cookie practices sharing, Elmo cheers up The Count, Abby Cadabby and Zoe bandage Big Bird’s bumps and boo-boos while Super Grover thinks all superheroes should learn to fly!

Presented by Life Like Touring and Sesame Workshop, the non-profit educational organisation behind Sesame Street, the show will give little people (and their grown-ups) a chance to sing, dance and join in while learning life lessons about cooperation, sharing and tolerance that Sesame Street has been teaching for more than 45 years.

Life Like Touring first brought Sesame Street to Australian stages in 2012, when Elmo’s World Tour delighted 150,000 fans around the country.

“I’m still pinching myself that Sesame Workshop came to us to write a second live show for dedicated Australian Sesame Street fans,” says Theresa Borg, the writer and director of Elmo’s Super Fun Hero Show.

“It just goes to show that little dreams can turn into big realities, and we don’t ever want our kids to stop dreaming!”

Sesame Street is currently celebrating its 46th season in Australia. The show is broadcast on ABC Kids, and is still watched by half a million preschoolers every day.

Earlier this year, Sesame Street superstar Grover made a quick visit to Brisbane to promote the series — and even found time in his busy schedule for a chat with us!

Sesame Street Presents Elmo’s Super Fun Hero Show will play at QUT Gardens Theatre on Tuesday 15 November and Wednesday 16 November. Tickets are on sale now at sesamestreetpresents.com.au.
