A celebratory new cookbook, Share, Care & Enjoy, features a collection of recipes by cancer heroes and the friends and family who shared their journey.

This beautiful cookbook contains over 90 recipes divided into three categories — share, care and enjoy. Each recipe is labelled with the contributor’s name and offers an insight into breast cancer by way of personal experiences from contributors.

Share, Care & Enjoy

Recipes could be a meal for a family during treatment and the more difficult times, through to something indulgent to celebrate with a glass of bubbles when they receive good news.

Share, Care & Enjoy is a beautifully designed collection of recipes from celebrities, sports personalities, breast cancer survivors and the people who share their journey; families, nurses, doctors, teachers. These aren’t just recipes — they’re stories, from real people for real people.

Look Good Feel Better patron Kerri-Anne Kennerley (herself a breast cancer survivor) has written the foreword for the cookbook.

Other contributors who have generously offered to help are Julie Goodwin, Ian Curley, Geoff Ogilvy, Karrie Webb AM, Ben Ikin, Richard Champion, Julie McDonald OAM, 4 Ingredients, Matthew Hayden AM and Kip Wightman (NOVA FM Brisbane); each of them stepping up to provide recipes, submissions, personal stories and quotes.

The charities supported by the cookbook include MacCallum Cancer Centre, The Wesley Hospital Choices Cancer Support Centre, Look Good Feel Better, Mummy’s Wish and QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute.

Want a sample? Give this fast and simple Sticky Pork Ribs recipe, contributed by breast cancer survivor Anita McAuliffe, a try!

Ingredients:

  • 850g pork ribs (8-10)
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, grated
  • Large pinch of dry chilli flakes
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated

Method:

  1. Place all ingredients into a bowl and mix.
  2. Place pork into sauce mixture and marinade in the fridge for several hours.
  3. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  4. Cover tray with alfoil and baking paper to protect the tray.
  5. Place marinated ribs on tray and bake for 30-40 minutes, basting and turning every 10 minutes.
  6. Serve with rice or salad.

TIP: You can also substitute pork with chicken wings or drumettes!
