The minds behind Savour Patisserie think eclairs are about to replace doughnuts as Brisbane’s favourite food trend, and they might be right.

A modern take on a French patisserie, Savour wants to make all our sugary dreams come true with a variety of eclairs, macarons and specialty tarts and cakes.

Owners Matt and Dan Jefferies say that Savour will differentiate itself from competitors by offering truly unique dessert.

“Our aim is to produce desserts that have the ‘wow’ factor — that not only taste good but look good too,” Matt says.

“We handcraft all of our desserts, and want people to appreciate the love and attention to detail that goes into each and every one.”

Jefferis is confident that eclairs are the next big thing to hit Brisbane.

“Dessert trends obviously come and go with the times but I think eclairs are something different. We’ve had doughnuts, cronuts and the like so I think it’s time for something new,” he says.

“We’re already seeing an increase in the demand for personalised eclairs at corporate events, weddings and birthday parties. People want something different, and we can provide this for them.”

The patisserie’s range will consist of eight macarons, six specialty cakes and eight eclairs, in flavours from passionfruit crème to chocolate honeycomb.

Opening this week as part of Westfield Chermside’s new food precinct, the store features minimal interiors with bright pops of colour to complement the dessert display.

Savour Patisserie opens at Westfield Chermside on Thursday 22 June. They’ll also be offering 100 free eclairs to the first 100 customers through the door on Saturday 24 June! First in, first served.
