Steampunk Surfers Paradise will open its doors soon.
The new venue pays homage to the retro-futuristic ‘Steampunk’ subculture inspired by the steam-powered Victorian era of the 19th century.
“There’s a lot of brass and copper, heavy Victorian furniture, and intricate gadgets and artwork with moving parts,” owner Grant Rodgers says.
“While we have that strong retro theme, the size of the bar means it will be spacious and social, with a large deck opening outside to embrace the main street ambience of this location.”
The expansive, 550 square-metre venue will be located in the Cavill Lane precinct in the heart of Surfers Paradise.
The venue’s mixologists will concoct molecular cocktails using superior and unique spirits, creating outlandish and peculiar drinking experiences.
A dedicated live music stage will add to the venue’s laidback atmosphere.
“We are keen to attract locals who have been waiting for a more chilled-out bar where they can experience live music and relax with friends in Surfers Paradise,” Rodgers says.
Steampunk Surfers Paradise (Level 1, 3113 Surfers Paradise Boulevard, Gold Coast) will kick off with a VIP grand opening party at 7pm on Friday 7 April, with the public welcome from 9pm onwards.
